Admissions Procedures

1. Campus Tour

Prospective students and parents are welcome to visit our school on weekdays for a brief tour of the campus. This visit can be scheduled through Chris Nehring, Admissions Director.  You can call 320.252.8182 or email at admissions@stcloudchristian.org  Mrs. Nehring  will provide answers to initial questions and will provide an admission packet with further details.

 

2. Application Process

You can begin the Application Process by downloading and completing the application. This will include a signed Statement of Belief and Parent Agreement, and submission of copies of previous school records (including all educational testing) when applicable. A birth certificate is required for all applicants. A student will not be scheduled for testing or a parent information session without submission of the above forms and an application fee of $100 ($50 for each additional sibling, maximum $200 per family). If an assessment is necessary the fee is $20.

 

3. Academic Records

It is the responsibility of parents to provide a transcript of grades, testing, and other official records from previous schools. This includes copies of any special diagnostic testing for learning problems, attention deficit, hyperactivity, or other special needs. If the previous school requires written notification, SCCS has a Release of Records forms available for parents to use, but parents can expedite the admissions review by submitting unofficial photocopies of records and delivering them to the school office. These will be adequate for initial screening purposes. Parents are responsible for submitting report cards and testing results in order to keep an applicant’s file complete and up to date.

 

4. Screening

Assessments will be scheduled when necessary. Readiness assessments are required for kindergarten students.  Achievement testing is scheduled for all other grades, when necessary.  An application and assessment fee is due before the applicant is brought in for their appointment.

 

5. Family Interview

A family interview will be scheduled after all information is received and files are reviewed.  This is an opportunity for you to ask questions, for us to get to know you better and help parents assess whether our program meets their needs.

 

6. Health Records

Health information form and immunization record must be submitted. This may be copied or transferred from the previous school. A student entering our school for the first time must submit a current health record.

 

7. Acceptance

Admission decisions are communicated to parents by phone.  A $250.00 deposit is needed to hold the student's place once the decision of acceptance has been communicated. Families are added to our mailing list at this time.

 

8. Payment of Tuition and Fees

When enrolling for a new academic year, you must put a $250.00 deposit down to hold your child’s seat.  Payments for tuition are made through Smart Tuition.  Please see Tuition Information for more details.

 

9. Back-to-School Information

Parents will receive regular electronic communications throughout the summer containing a list of school supplies needed, a calendar of events for the school year, etc. These are also available on our website under www.stcloudchristian.org.
