Academics

High academic standards, development of the whole person, and service to God and to others are at the core of a St. Cloud Christian School education. The curriculum at SCCS is designed to make learning at every grade level challenging, meaningful, and enjoyable. Evidence of success is seen in our academic accreditations and accomplishments.

Accreditations

Accreditation has been granted to SCCS by the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI).  ACSI accredits over 5,500 Christian schools in 100 nations. SCCS has also been accredited by the North Central Association (NCA) which accredits public and private schools in 19 states.

Academic Accomplishments

SCCS is committed to maintaining and improving its educational program. Each year at least two areas of the curriculum are put through a review cycle, insuring that the school is constantly scrutinizing what and how students are taught. Each of these reviews includes not only content review (for example: math), but also how well Biblical integration is being done within that subject area. SCCS believes that teaching everything throughout the day from God's perspective is as important as the subject matter itself.

Evidence of academic success include:
  • Students at each grade level exceed the 70th percentile (top 30 percent) on nationally standardized tests.
  • Students who participated in the state-wide math competition have finished in the top 5 percent for the past several years.
  • Our average ACT score for college-bound seniors is 24.

Teachers

Our devoted faculty members are licensed by the State of Minnesota. Our teachers find it rewarding to be able to teach from a Christian perspective and enjoy the freedom of praying with their students. Our limited class sizes allow teachers to help students realize their full potential.

Chapel

We hold regular chapel times with guest speakers with the elementary students utilizing the "Character First" program developed by Character Training Institute, emphasizing a different character quality each month. Our secondary chapel consists of a variety of guest speakers, small group opportunities and guest worship bands.  In addition to our chapel program, we have daily Bible class, prayer and a wide variety of Christian-centered activities.

Curriculum

Our curriculum integrates Biblical teachings throughout the school day and is obtained through a variety of curricular materials.
