Text Box: MONDAY MEMO…
A weekly communication to SCCS families from Mrs. Froemming

November 17, 2008

K-12 Chapel this week is Wednesday at 9:30 with Mrs. Emerson’s class presenting, Green worship team is leading. Practice for the worship team will be at 7:45.

Cookie Dough Orders Here Tomorrow!  Please plan on picking up your child’s cookie dough orders on Tuesday, November 18th.  All orders will be available after school and can be picked up in the cafeteria.  If you are unable to pick up orders, please contact Chris Nehring in the office so we can be sure to set your orders aside for a later pick up time.

Special Order Logo WearFliers were sent home on November 6th with students.  There was renewed interest with the holidays fast approaching and we encourage you to take a look at what is being offered this time around.  Deadline for orders will be November 25th, so hurry and get your orders in to the office!  Also keep in mind that we have t-shirts and cinch bags available for very reasonable prices and those items are in stock.

Partners in Prayer:  Friday mornings at 8:30 in the Staff Room—All parents are welcome to join this group and pray for our school!

Please remind your elementary students that they do not have access to the microwaves during the lunch hour. We do not have enough lunchroom volunteers or microwaves to accommodate that many students.

Remember:  In the event of bad weather that may affect school, SCCS follows whatever District 742 does.  There will not be a separate announcement for our school.  If 742 is two hours late, we will also.  If 742 is closed, we will also be closed.  In the event of an early dismissal, all after school activities will be cancelled.  If you live out of town, we always encourage you to make the best decision for your situation.  Watch/listen to radio or tv for updates.  Or, go to www.isd742.org for up to the minute information.

Mark your calendars:  Christmas Performance

More information will follow!

Our sixth graders are doing their annual “Pennies for Jesus” campaign.  They will be collecting loose change from now until the second week in December.  The change will be totaled and used to go to the mall and take items from the Salvation Army’s Giving Tree.

If you have outdated prescription glasses that you are no longer wearing, please consider donating them in our office.  One of our students is collecting them as part of a Girl Scout project.  The used glasses are taken and redistributed to poor people who can’t otherwise afford them.  The collection box is on the counter in the main office.

We also have a collection box outside the office for one of our school dads who is serving in Afghanistan.  Items that will survive the trip include:  hard candy (not chocolate), energy/granola bars, instant oatmeal, individual snack items, coffee and tea, dried fruit, jerky, travel games, and magazines.

Thank you for to the PTF and all the parents who provided lunch for the staff on Thursday.  It was greatly appreciated!

Our junior and senior high math league teams are off to a great start.  Our 7/8th grade team is ranked first in the region and has six individuals in the top 11 places in the state!  Isaac Eickhoff is currently in first place.  Our ninth grade team is also doing well.  In ninth grade Isaac Froemming is currently first in the state.  Keep up the good work!

Way to go secondary students!  During the past two weeks, they collected 51 boxes for Operation Christmas Child!

Seniors and Senior Parents, you may bring your photos in for the 2 minute slideshow for graduation on either CD or jump drive. It will be used in Microsoft MovieMaker software for the presentation. 25-30 photo’s should fill the 2 minute timeframe. Call Rhonda if you have any questions.
